Another Chippendales Dancer Comes OUT - Jaymes Vaughan

Jaymes Vaughan, a singer and dancer with the infamous Chippendales male revue recently came out in the pages of QVegas magazine. Making him the 2nd out gay dancer from the show.

What?!? Chippendales gay! and have singers?
Of course they do - these are your Mother's Chippendales!

Most of you don't remember the original Chippendales. In 1979 Chippendales was the first all-male stripping troupe to make a business performing for mostly female audiences. Through the quality of its staging and choreography, Chippendales also helped legitimize stripping as a form of popular entertainment.

Now, they live on in Las Vegas. The Chippendales perform in a ten-million dollar theater and lounge built specifically for them at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Annually, the official men of Chippendales are seen by almost two million people worldwide. Men ARE ALLOWED into see the show these days.

Back to Jaymes, who does double duty at Rio.

“My nights start at 6:00pm and I don’t stop until 12:30am. I start Show In The Sky, run up to Chippendales in time for my first song, run back to Show In The Sky for my next number there, and so it goes each night. There is a four minute break where I run to Burger King, they give me my chicken sandwich and I run back in time to sing my next song.” Vaughan has also released a new single, “Vampire,” and recorded the accompanying music video. He says he’s always loved the Dracula types, even as a kid, but that the song is really “about being in a situation where you can’t be yourself; where you can’t live a part of your life in the daylight; being in a relationship that I can’t share with my family. “

Coming out wasn’t like facing the harsh light of day: Vaughan was already out to his family and friends—and even hosted Las Vegas Pride in 2011. This is more a case of coming out publicly as one of the few openly gay entertainers on the Strip.

"I hope to be able to take advantage of a platform so that my fourteen-year-old self that was sitting in Chesterfield County, Virginia, might find some hope. The fourteen year old that had no one to look up to; whose mama told him he better not be gay; whose church told him he was going to hell; whose best friend killed himself because he didn’t “fit in.” Because he didn’t have any hope. I thought for so long you had to cover up who you were to be successful. I’ve realized you can be more successful by being yourself.

IN 2008- Instinct magazine's annual swim suit issue cover features Chippendales' first openly gay dancer, Brandon Pereyda, talked about how most Chippendales guys are mistakenly pegged as being gay.

"I guess it is monumental for this company," Pereyda notes. "Chippendales guys are often pegged as being gay. And they're not. And I think this will clear the slate."

He continues, "They're all straight, but we would do anything for each other and that's what I really love about working here. They don't view my be gay as a negative thing at all."

On a sidenote - Chippendales in Vegas has already reached out to muscle hottie Kris Humphries, hoping to fill their empty celebrity MC spot at the Rio -- previously occupied by ex-98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons.

Burt Wonderstone Filming This Week in Las Vegas

Isn't it funny how times change?! Years ago, rarely was a film shot in Las Vegas, and if it was, gobs of restrictions were in place as to what could be shot and what could not, especially in the casinos.

It used to be, a tourist could get in trouble for taking a photo inside the casino gaming area - I don't think that is true anymore.

Same is true for concerts. From 1980-2005, no show anywhere, would allow cameras in. Today, most shows welcome cameras! Because they know everyone is going to broadcast their crappy footage and photos on Social Media, thereby promoting said show! (Cirque du Soleil usually DOES NOT welcome cameras).

So this week around 400 extras have been hired to appear as Strip pedestrians, tourists and casino workers. Trailers line the streets and filming is well underway for the new Steve Carroll movie, Burt Wonderstone.

While NOT based on Siegfried and Roy, with his flowing blonde hair, plunging maroon velvet jumpsuit and gold medallions, Steve Carell looked every inch a Las Vegas show magician as he shot scenes for his movie yesterday.

The 49-year-old actor was worlds away from his usual appearance as he filmed scenes for highly-anticipated comedy alongside Steve Buscemi and Olivia Wilde.

The movie tells the story of Vegas illusionist Wonderstone who reunites with his former magic partner Anton Lovecraft (Buscemi) as he decides to take on a rival street magician Steve Haines, played by Jim Carrey.

While the reunion of Carell and Carrey, who previously starred together in 2003 movie Bruce Almighty, is being looked forward to by millions of fans of the comedy giants, the film has not been without problems.

It has undergone several rewrites, and looked in trouble when, just two months after appointing Charles McDougall as director, he left the project with no reason being cited for the departure in April last year.

However, things picked up when Don Scardino signed on to direct the comedy, slated for release in 2013.

They are filming on location until Friday, and among the locations on the itinerary are interiors and exteriors at Bally's, plus outside on the Strip and Downtown.

Caesars Octavius Tower Moves Full Speed Ahead

It's funny, in 2008-2009, many projects were put on hold or canceled in Las Vegas. Or at least it appeared that way. Some projects inched their way forward anyways, despite the economy!

CityCenter, which includes Vdara, ARIA and Mandarin Oriental, slowed down a bit in 2009-2010, but still moved forward.

Cosmopolitan opened.
M Resort opened.
Rumor Boutique Hotel opened.

And Caesars have announced that come January, they will be hiring 450+ people.

They began taking reservations for their new 600+ room tower a couple months back.

The Octavius Tower, named after the given name of the Emperor Caesar Augustus, keeps with the Roman theme with elegant, austere marble floors made warm and inviting by extensive traditionally patterned carpets.

Completion of the addition to Caesars was put on hold more than a year ago as the company waited for
what it imagined would be the right time to make more rooms available.

The exterior and lower level public areas were completed so that most people would never know there was
nothing happening on the upper levels.

Kris Humphries Cancels Las Vegas Party at Paris

Kris Humphries has canceled an upcoming appearance at a Las Vegas nightclub event after wife Kim Kardashian filed for divorce.

A representative for Nets power forward Humphries, 26, said he would not attend an event scheduled for Saturday at the Chateau Nightclub & Gardens in the Paris Hotel and Casino, according to Access Hollywood.

Kardashian, 31, filed divorce papers Monday in California after only 72 days of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences." She also asked that she not have to pay alimony to Humphries.

"I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce," Humphries said in a statement Monday after the news broke. "I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."

The website the Chateau Nightclub & Gardens was still listing Humphries as the host of the event Tuesday afternoon.

Kardashian's sister Kourtney and her boyfriend, Scott Disick, are scheduled to host a New Year's Eve event at the club.

Hmmmm....so one wonders if Kardashian squashed the deal perhaps??

The couples assets will be divided in accordance with their prenup. According to Us Weekly, the prenup protects all of Kardashian's assets prior to the marriage (the Kardashians pulled in $65 million last year alone), and she will also keep everything she earned during their short union.

By contrast, Humpries -- who is currently unemployed due to the NBA lockout -- reportedly makes around $3.2 million a year.

Britain's top piano man signed on for another round of concerts in Vegas back in the Spring, and the first show is happening next week. At Caesars, of course. But will he sell out? Is the demand still there?

"The show will be a gargantuan feast of music and imagery," John said in a statement released by Caesars.

When I checked today, there were still tickets available online for opening week.

Call me a bad gay -
but I am sorry, I just don't get what all the fuss about Celine Dion is all about.

I have never counted her among my all time favorite diva's. I know I am going to get BOO's for that!

Last night she returned to the Las Vegas stage at Caesars and they can't print the tickets fast enough this time round. She is already selling out shows 10 months out! AND 16 shows have been added over New Year’s from Dec. 28 through Jan. 22. Is she not going to sleep?

People from around the world, flock to Las Vegas to see her. It's like when Siegfried and Roy held court at the Mirage. People would fly in from around the globe to see them and plan their trips around when tickets were available.

Celine and manager husband Rene Angelil are already thinking of extending the new three-year contract by two additional years to make it another five-year stay.

“We are ready for the opening,” Rene told LAS VEGAS SUN after the final rehearsal. “This is now it. Both Celine and I are very happy it is all together and ready. Celine says it is the perfect show for the fans, and I know they will love all the music and the special effects. She really excels singing live. to get out your best and most bodacious red dress for their annual benefit to fight HIV/AIDS.

The event, sponsored by Blown Out Productions, SNAPI, QVegas, CRUSH, Flava, Las Vegas Nightbeat, Big Daddy Productions and Mundo will be held at The World Market Center (495 S. Grand Central Parkway), on the 16th floor, on February 26, 2011. The VIP Party ($50), which includes admission to the Main Event, will start at 8p and the Main Event ($30) will start at 9p.

The night will feature live entertainment, silent and live auctions, a costume contest, dancing, a cash bar and lots of debauchery and Sister mayhem!

This is a non-smoking and 21+ event.

ALL attendees of the "The Cherry Poppin’ Red Dress" are required to wear a red dress to reflect the solidarity of the community in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

What qualifies as a red dress?

A dress can be made from cloth, mesh, ribbon, sheer, leather or latex, etc. Sarongs, pareos, togas, kilts, skirts with tops, wrap dress, are also allowed. It is not mandatory that your chest be covered, only the nipples of females.

It's NOT drag (but it can be)

You are NOT required to express yourselves with make-up, heels or other feminine accessories, unless that is what you desire. This is similar in mood to a school uniform… with a twist. It allows for personal expression, but creates a unity and breaks down social barriers that unconsciously exist between people.

There will be red dress rentals available for a small suggested donation.

The Red Dress is the major fundraiser for The Sisters AIDS Drug Assistance Program. This program is designed to assist individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada with both short-term and long-term acquisition of prescribed medications necessary for their continued physical health and mental well-being. Our program will allow these individuals to remain adherent to ALL their prescribed medications needs and will alleviate much of the emotional stress of monthly financial dilemmas. The Sisters have raised and distributed over $230,000 to acquire HIV medications for our clients in the past four years.

The Sisters exist as an order of 21st century nuns dedicated to the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt. Our ministry is one of public manifestation and habitual perpetration. The Sin Sity Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence were formed in Las Vegas in 2005. Mother Loosy Lust Bea Lady and some close friends, all with activist and volunteering backgrounds, went out into Las Vegas, and began the mission of love, no shame, no guilt and ultimately the Sisters AIDS Drug Assistance Program.

The Sisters Red Dress Event has become one of the landmark and most highly anticipated events in the city. The Sisters attempt to bless, listen, reach out, and celebrate the fact that by being who we are, as nature made us, we gain grace and redemption. We are proud to have become part of the fabric of fun and glitz that Las Vegas offers, as well as bringing a more thought provoking message of love.
